Treasurer Barbara Ruth Rider Faulkner

Barbara Ruth Rider Faulkner currently resides in Tulsa, Oklahoma.   She was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma to parents Albert Wade Rider and Creassie Lee (Marie) Bullard.  Her Cherokee grandfather was Percival Willard, known as Percy or P. W. Rider.

Faulkner’s father was employed at the Pure Oil Company in Muskogee.  During the early start of the depression, he lost his job with the company.  The family then moved to Adair, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Adair High School.  She enrolled in the Draughon School of Business in Muskogee and graduated with a degree in business.

She married Jay Garland Faulkner July 11, 1953.  After his military service tour in Germany, they move to Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Ruth Faulkner worked at various businesses in Tulsa, retiring from St. Francis Hospital.   After retirement, she started volunteering at the Ernest Childers VA Outpatient Clinic in Tulsa, an activity she continued for more than fifteen years.

She is an active member of several history groups and serves as a board member for most of them.  These groups include the following:  Goingsnake District Heritage Association, Association of the Descendants of Nancy Ward, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and United States Daughters of 1812.
